Raw materials
We only buy raw materials from certified and FSC forests.
We monitor regularly our suppliers in respect of the material quality and environmental standards compliance.
Production
The production process is constantly monitored by the ISO 14001 system plenipotentiary. For the gluing and dying of wood, we use water-based chemical components manufactured by the best pro-ecological producers. During the production process, the Baltic Wood does not exceed the upper limits of the standards on noise and formaldehyde emission. Before being used for production, the material is kept in a wood stabilizing storage facility with a view to preserving its highest quality. There, it rests among
a network of sprinklers, which maintatin the proper humidity.
The pure wood industrial waste is burnt in the biomass boiler house on the company premises, where it is turned into heat for the Baltic Wood and other plants owned by the Nowy Styl Group. The little amount of hazardous waste that is generated is regularly and systematically recycled by authorised units, which are under contract with Baltic Wood.
The Baltic Wood plant floor, boiler house and mechanical workshop are equipped with drip trays and environmental chests, which safeguard against potential environmental disasters such as leaks and spills.
Product
The finished product is made mostly of certified wood. The packaging composed of paper, cardboard and plastic is 100% recyclable.
The Baltic Wood floor is a durable product offering a glue-free LOC installation system and a facility for renovation.
Employees
Baltic Wood also means people caring for the natural environment.
The administration ensures that the use of paper is kept to the minimum and so the employees prefer telephone and e-mail communications.
The ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates that we have oblige us to take great care over the environment as well as to increase the knowledge. Baltic Wood is the organiser of pro-ecology trainings for the employees.
Local social policy
The company is also involved in helping the local community. Some of the pure wood industrial waste is handed over to manufacturers of building blocks for children, whereas the wood clippings are used as horses bedding in nearby stables.
